Hoyle, Lucio win weekly honors
The Waynesboro Generals have named Jacob Hoyle (freshman, Western Carolina) Player of the Week and Seth Lucio (freshman, Tennessee Tech) the Pitcher of the Week for the week ending June 9.
Hoyle hit .480 for the week with eight runs batted in and seven runs scored.
Hoyle also pitched twice out of the Generals’ bullpen, giving up a run on a hit in three innings pitched with three strikeouts and five walks.
Lucio earns pitching honors after notching a win and a save in two appearances. Lucio threw eight shutout innings in a 4-3 win over Staunton on June 7 and earned a save with three shutout innings in a 14-4 win over New Market on June 2.
Lucio also posted a .412 batting average with a home run and five runs batted in.
