Host Family:
The Lundstroms
Dalton Wingo is our first All-Star recipient. While he has gone through a recent slump, at the time of the All-Star meeting, he was hitting .305. He’s tied for the team lead in home runs at 2. He has also shown the ability to steal a bag in key situations. He has a total of 5 on the year.
Fun Fact:
If Dalton could have dinner with one person (dead or alive), he would have dinner with Babe Ruth.
Alex Brait:
Florida Gulf Coast University
Host Family:
The Lundstroms
Alex Brait has been one of the hottest hitters in the Valley League recently. He had somewhat of a slow start but has rounded into form nicely. He’s hitting .322 with 4 doubles, a triple, and 2 homers for 11 RBI. His average has climbed .100 points in his last 8 games.
Fun Fact:
While Brait lives in Melbourne, Florida, he spent 4 years of his life living in Winchester, Virginia.
Chase Cheek
Duke University
Host Family:
The Lundstroms
Chase Cheek is one of the easiest All-Star selections in the league. His all-around numbers speak for themselves. Cheek has been instrumental in the success of the Waynesboro Generals. He’s hitting .430 with 34 hits. He has 8 doubles, a triple, and a homer to go along with 10 stolen bases and 17 RBI. He has also scored 15 runs in 18 games played.
Fun Fact:
Chase’s celebrity crush is Selena Gomez.
Nick Parr
Oakland University
Host Family:
The Thomases
Nick Parr is the lone pitcher on the General staff to be selected to this year’s All-Star team, so you know his numbers are good. Nick started out the summer mostly coming out of the bullpen, but has now settled into the rotation as a starter. Nick is 2-1 this summer with a 2.52 ERA over 25 innings pitched. In those 25 innings, Nick has surrendered 30 hits, 7 walks, and only 7 earned runs. He’s also struck out 24 hitters over that span.
Fun Fact:
His favorite food is his mom Dawn’s baked spaghetti.
