Generals Blow Past I-64 Rival Tom Sox with 8-4 Win

With the help of a six run fifth inning, the Generals were able to bounce back and beat the rival Charlottesville Tom Sox 8-4.

Designated hitter Reid Long would break it open belting a grand slam in the bottom half of the fifth inning. Reid would finish the night 1-for-3 with five RBIs. McClain Bradley would also make his usual contributions as he would put up a 2-for-4 night with two runs scored. He would also go on to steal his eighteenth base of the year.

Malik Stephens would also add two RBIs and a run scored as he would go 1-for-3.

Payton Kinney would take the win for the Generals throwing five complete allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits. Garrett Bye would collect his second save as he would go four innings allowing just one earned run on three hits.

Justin Sorokowski would take the loss for the Tom Sox. He made it 4 1/3 and allowed six earned runs on two hits. The Generals would hand him his first loss of the season.

The Tom Sox are now 22-8 with a five game lead in the South division.

Your Generals improve to 19-15 and look to finish the 2017 season strong. The Generals will travel to Winchester Monday evening to take on the Royals.
