The Waynesboro Generals are pleased to announce that Mike Correa, currently the Faulkner University graduate assistant coach, will be joining the Waynesboro Generals staff in 2017 as an assistant coach.

Correa will complete his fifth year with the Faulkner program this season after three seasons as a player and two as a graduate assistant.

Correa began his collegiate playing career at Sacramento City College, earning a Rawlings Gold Glove in 2012, and later transferred to Faulkner, where he was a team captain for two seasons and crowned NAIA National Champions in 2013.

A native of Sacramento, California, Correa graduated from Faulkner with his bachelor’s degree in sports management.

In Correa’s current role as a graduate assistant at Faulkner, he assists in working with infielders and hitters, while also coaching third-base.

Correa’s day-to-day duties with the Waynesboro Generals will include assisting with infielders and hitters, along with manning a coaching box.

The hiring of Correa completes the Generals’ 2017 coaching staff that consists of manager, Matt Williams, and assistants, Micheal Thomas and Matt Aldrich.
