Generals Defeat New Market on the Road 4-3

After a rough stretch of four straight losses, the Generals are back on the winning track with a 4-3 road win against the New Market Rebels.

Grant Suponchick would take the win for the Generals as he would run six complete allowing just one earned run on four hits. It would be his second win of the season. Garrett Bye would hang in for his first save of the season as he would throw 1 2/3 innings. He struck out four.

Reid Long, Joe Vranesh and Patrick Cromwell would all have RBIs for the Generals. Vranesh would knock his second homerun of the season. Long would add two RBIs with two doubles and McClain Bradley would go 2-for-5 with two runs scored. Bradley would also go on to steal his fifteenth base of the season.

Austin Bogart would earn his first loss of the year as he would throw five innings and allow three runs (two earned) on five hits. He had seven strike outs. Michael Neustifter and Alex Raines would contribute RBIs for the Rebels.

New Market now falls to 18-4 on the season and are 3.5 games out of first place in the North. The Generals improve to 18-6 and remain 6 games behind the Tom Sox.

The Generals look to continue the wins Saturday evening as they take on the Harrisonburg Turks at home.
