Generals Drop Close One to Express 4-3

The Generals dropped their fourth game in a row Thursday evening as they fell to the Strasburg Express 4-3.

Backed by a solid start from Dylan Hall, the Express were able to hang in as he threw 5 1/3 for his second win of the year. He allowed just one earned run on four hits.

Philip Madonna and Sebastiano Santorelli would both contribute RBIs in the win. Centerfielder Jacob Hirsh would also add two hits and two runs scored. He would knock his first triple of the season.

Lawson Humphries would come on for two innings of relief and earn his second save of the year. He allowed two earned runs on two hits and walked three.

Starter for the Generals Braden Olive would get hit for his first loss as he would throw 5 1/3 innings. He would be tabbed for three runs (two earned) on five hits.

Offensively, Zach Evers and Parker Phillips would both double for the Generals. Evers would end up 2-for-4 with two runs scored and Phillips 2-for-3 with three RBIs. With the loss the Generals fall to 17-14 and are now six games behind the Tom Sox for the lead in the South.

The Strasburg Express improve to 16-14 and are four games out of first place.

The Generals look to earn a much needed win Friday evening as they will travel to New Market to take on the Rebels.
