Generals Set to Host “Baseball Chapel” in 2017

Building off their “Community Outreach Program,” the Waynesboro Generals will be launching “Baseball Chapel” in 2017. An idea brought to the Valley Baseball League by Northern Division foe,Strasburg Express, the Generals will host “Baseball Chapel” prior to every Sunday home game during the 2017 season.

“Baseball Chapel” will be led by the Generals’ newly appointed team chaplain, Rev. J. Barrett Owen, senior pastor at First Baptist Waynesboro. Rev. Owen, a former collegiate baseball player at Belmont University, along with his staff at First Baptist Waynesboro, will lead “Baseball Chapel” by conducting a mini-sermon, small group meeting starting at approximately 6 PM prior to every Sunday home game. “Baseball Chapel” will last 10-15 minutes and is open to all Generals players and staff, visiting team members and staff, and community members of all ages. “Baseball Chapel” will be held just outside the field at an announced location the day of the game.

The Waynesboro Generals are excited to bring this special opportunity to the Waynesboro community and welcome Rev. J. Barrett Owen along with his wife, Noelle, and two kids, Henry and Georgia, to the Waynesboro Generals family.
