Generals Down Turks 9-2

Continuing to remain hot, the Waynesboro Generals traveled to Harrisonburg Wednesday evening and took down the Turks with a 9-2 win.

In what is hopefully a promising turn in power, two more Generals put up long-balls against the Turks. Zach Evers and Joseph Estrada would both go deep in the win against Harrisonburg. Evers would continually make his presence know as he would go 2-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Estrada would contribute with an equal amount of damage belting a 2-for-4 night with a team leading four RBIs. He would also add a stolen base.

Jason Bush and Luke Robinson would also continue to stay hot at the plate as they would each add an RBI in the win.

Generals’ starter Gabe Mosser would throw five complete and allow just one earned run on six hits. He would go on to earn his second win on the season.

Turks’ starter Zak Devermann would get the hook early as the Generals would knock him around for eight runs (six earned) on seven hits. It is his third loss on the year. Christopher Farish would come on however with shutdown stuff and hold the Turks to just two hits and one earned run for the next seven innings. He walked one and struck out eight.

The loss moves the Turks to 9-13 in the South with the Generals improving to 13-7.

The Generals will continue their road trip Thursday evening as they travel to Strasburg to take on the Express.
