- After earning the starting second base job in spring camp, took advantage by making 49 starts in 50 total games played
- Dazzled defensively with a .961 fielding percentage
- Hit .266 at the dish and paced all C-USA freshmen with 15 HBP and 12 sac bunts
- Amassed 12 doubles, three homers, 20 RBI and 31 runs scored
High School
- Played for coach David Saliba at Winter Haven High School and was a teammate of fellow UCF signee Joe Rogers
- Completed senior year with a .300 average
- Earned 2008 Class 5A All-State Honorable Mention honors, as well as Second Team All-East Polk County
- Hit .430 with a homer, 17 RBI and 36 runs scored during his junior year
- Named first team all-county after going .440 at the plate as a sophomore
- Also lettered in basketball
- Member of the Chet Lemon’s Juice AAU club, and helped his travel team claim the Summer 2008 Under Armour Tournament title
Generals announce signings of eight for summer season

The Waynesboro Generals announced a slew of player signings today for the 2010 season.
Zips send leading hitter Akron outfielder Drew Turocy will add punch to the middle of the order for Coach Ronnie Palmer in 2010.
Turocy, a 6-3, 185-pound junior, leads the Zips with a .404 batting average and .610 slugging percentage. He has a .419 on-base percentage with four homers, 36 RBIs and six stolen bases.
Turocy has also made 12 appearances on the mound for Akron from the Zips’ bullpen, and is 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA with 17 strikeouts in 18 innings pitched in 2010. (more…)
