Two Houston Arms to Bolster Generals Staff

Waynesboro, Virginia
Two members of the University of Houston Cougar’s pitching staff will be making their way to Waynesboro, Virginia this summer. Left-handed pitcher/oufielder Tyler Bielamowicz and right-handed pitcher Hunter Edwards will look to play key roles in an exciting 2018 Generals roster.

 

Tyler Bielamowicz – Left-Handed Pitcher/Outfielder

A native of Cypress, Texas, the 6’1 193-pound sophomore was a key contributor for the Cougars during his freshman season, earning himself a spot on the 2017 American Championship All-Tournament Team. Bielamowicz started in left field late in the year where he finished with a .267 batting average, 16 RBI’s, 17 runs and 15 walks. Along with manning the left field position, Bielamowicz made 5 appearances out of the bullpen, finishing with a 5.06 ERA and 5 strikeouts in 5.1 innings. Following his successful freshman campaign, Bielamowicz went on to be named a North All-Star in the New England Collegiate Baseball League after finishing with a .304 batting average, 6 doubles, 4 home runs and 14 RBI’s.

 

Hunter Edwards – Right-Handed Pitcher

A native of Cypress, Texas, the 6’1 205-pound redshirt-freshman did not appear in any games for the Cougars in 2017 as he took a redshirt season. Currently during the 2018 season, Edwards boasts a 1-0 record with a 0.00 ERA, giving up 2 hits and striking out 4 over 7.1 innings pitched. Following his 2017 season, Edwards joined Bielamowicz in the New England Collegiate Baseball League where he finished with a 3-3 record, 4.03 ERA, 3 saves and 27 strikeouts in 22.1 innings pitched and 13 appearances from the bullpen.
