Generals Welcome Back Thompson as Assistant Coach

WAYNESBORO, Va. – Former Waynesboro General Terrell Thompson will join the team as an assistant coach, the club announced on Thursday.

A Waynesboro native, Thompson competed in the Valley Baseball League during the 2011 season for the Generals and was selected to the South Division All-Star team after hitting for a .302 average with four triples.

Thompson started his collegiate career at Patrick Henry Community College before transferring to Point University and The University of Texas at Permian Basin to finish his playing career.

Following his collegiate career, Thompson competed in many different independent baseball leagues including the past six seasons with the Stuarts Draft Diamondbacks in the Rockingham County Baseball League.

Thompson is currently an assistant coach of The School of Miller baseball program in nearby Crozet, Va. under 16-year MLB veteran Billy Wagner.
