Former Waynesboro General Thomas Stallings named National Player of the Week

12-Thomas-StallingsVMI infielder Thomas Stallings was named a Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week, according to information released by Collegiate Baseball Monday morning. Stallings was one of five players honored.

Stallings went 7-for-15 with 3 homers, 5 runs scored, 5 RBI and 16 total bases over four games. Prior to a doubleheader at Furman, he entered the day hitting only .213. He then went 7-for-10 with 3 home runs and 5 RBI. Two of his home runs came in back-to-back at-bats as he became the first Keydet to accomplish the feat since 2010.

Stallings is the third Keydet to earn Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week honors, joining Jordan Ballard (2010) and Reed Garrett (2014). The Keydets return to action Tuesday night, playing host to Radford at 6 p.m.
