Reed Tabbed as Assistant Coach

Mike ReedThe Waynesboro Generals are pleased to announce the hiring of former Valdosta State standout, Mike Reed, as an assistant coach for the 2016 season. With the Generals, Reed will be working with hitters and infielders.

Reed recently completed his collegiate playing career at Valdosta State by earning 2nd Team All-Gulf South Conference honors at shortstop in 2015, after earning 1st Team honors in 2014. Reed batted .302 during the 2015 season with a team leading 51 runs scored and 18 stolen bases.

Reed’s decorated career also included being named 1st Team All-South Region by both the NCBWA and Daktronics. Prior to attending Valdosta State, Reed played one season at FCS Jacksonville after beginning his career at Auburn.

Reed, a native of Middleburg, Florida, also won the Florida Collegiate Summer League title with the Winter Park Diamond Dawgs in the summer of 2014.
