Betancourt to Join Generals

WAYNESBORO, Va. – University of South Florida freshman Rafael Betancourt Jr. is joining the Generals for the 2023 campaign.

Betancourt is coming off of his rookie campaign at USF where he has seen action in 25 games and is swinging for a .305 average.

A native of Deltone, Fla., Betancourt stands at 5-11 and has primarily seen action at first base for the Bulls. Betancourt tallied a three-RBI performance earlier this month in USF’s win over the Green Wave of Tulane.

The 100th anniversary season of Waynesboro Generals baseball begins on June 1 as the club travels to Charlottesville to battle the TomSox.
