Busy opening weekend

The Generals open the 2012 Valley League season with two home games at Kate Collins Field on the June 1-3 opening weekend.

Opening Night on Friday, June 1, features the Valley’s version of Red Sox-Yankees as the the defending South Division champions play host to their cross-county rivals, the Staunton Braves. Opening Night is News Virginian Night, with our local daily-news partner on hand for several pre-game and on-field promotions.

On Saturday, June 2, the Generals travel to Covington to take on the Lumberjacks. On Sunday, June 3, Waynesboro returns home to host the New Market Rebels.

First pitch at Generals’ home games is 7 p.m.
