Kaleb Fleck will be back in Waynesboro to pitch for the Generals in 2010.

The signing of Fleck, who pitched in Waynesboro in 2008 and then last summer played in the Cape Cod League, was one of a series of player-personnel moves announced by the team on Tuesday.

The Generals added another pitcher, Mars Hill righthander Greg Smith, and announced that two players who had signed contracts with the team to play in 2010, Austin Peay pitcher Lucas Anderson and Towson pitcher Spencer Patton, will not be playing this summer.

Fleck, a 6-2, 195-pound junior at Pitt-Johnstown, had a 1-2 record with two saves and a 1.80 ERA out of the Generals bullpen in 2008. His gaudy numbers included 31 strikeouts and just three bases on balls in 25 innings pitched.

Fleck pitched for Chatham in the Cape Cod League in 2009, where he posted an 0-2 record with a 4.50 ERA in 18 innings out of the A’s pen.

Fleck is 2-2 with a 4.76 ERA in seven appearances (five starts) at Pitt-Johnstown in 2010.

Smith, a 6-1, 190-pound junior, is 5-4 with a 5.23 ERA in 14 appearances (seven starts) for Mars Hill in 2010.

The Generals open the 2010 season on June 5 at New Market. The home opener is June 6 with a game against Rockbridge.
