A pair of Butler Bulldogs will be coming to Waynesboro to play for the Generals in the summer of 2010.

Sophomore pitcher Mike Hernandez and junior infielder Grant Fillipitch will continue a tradition of Butler players in Waynesboro dating back several years now.

Hernandez will be a second-year General in 2010. The 6-2, 210-pound righthander posted a tough-luck 1-6 record in eight starts in 2009, but posted a solid 3.75 ERA and allowed opponents to hit just .245.

Hernandez has an 0-0 record with a 5.00 ERA in two starts for Butler this spring.

Fillipitch, a 6-0, 205-pounder who plays is coming off a stellar sophomore season in ’09 in which he was named the team’s most valuable player and offensive player of the year with a .302 batting average, .380 on-base percentage and .490 slugging percentage with seven homers, 30 RBI and 32 runs scored.
