Walton, Reck named to Mid-Alantic Classic team

First baseman Jordan Walton and closer Andrew Reck will represent the Waynesboro Generals in the Mid-Atlantic Classic.

The Classic pits all-stars from the Valley League against all-stars from the Cal Ripken League in Maryland.

The game will be held on Monday, July 11, at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Harrisonburg.

Walton, a sophomore at Randolph-Macon, is hitting .362 with a homer and 17 RBI for Waynesboro. His batting average puts him sixth in the league, and his .450 on-base percentage is good for fifth in the league in that category.

Reck, a junior from Nebraska-Omaha, is tied for third in the league in saves with five. Reck has an 0-1 record with a 1.54 ERA. Reck has struck out 14 in 11.2 innings and is holding opposing hitters to a .229 batting average.
